Larry Deason and his staff have been providing quality legal services for clients since 1971. Their mission is to assist people who are concerned about protecting their families from the devastating legal and financial impacts of disability, death, and taxes.

Because he believes in the importance of an informed public, Deason spends considerable time educating consumers about Estate Planning issues. He writes a monthly Estate Planning column in The Sun, and he regularly conducts seminars on various Estate Planning topics.

Deason and his staff believe that in many instances Living Trusts offer clients a proven and powerful tool for protecting their families from the expense and delay of probate, as well as a strategy for eliminating or minimizing federal taxes.

Deason's firm is staffed with paralegals and consultants who are experienced and trained in a variety of Estate Planning areas. The aim of each member of the firm is to help clients accomplish their Estate Planning goals while taking the mystery out of the whole process. Experience

In addition to a busy law practice and speaking schedule, Deason is a member of the Board of Governors and a Fellow of the American Academy of Estate Planning Attorneys, and is a member of the Estate and Tax Advisory Committee of the State Bar of Arizona. He is admitted to practice before all the courts in the State of Arizona.

Education

Deason was awarded his Juris Doctorate from Arizona State University College of Law in 1971. His undergraduate degree in Business Management was obtained from that university in 1968. He also holds an Associate of Arts degree from Arizona Western College.

Personal

Larry Deason is a Yuma native. His family includes his wife, Harolyn, six children and 6 grandchildren. He is an avid sports fan, who enjoys playing golf on the weekends with his sons-in-law.

In 1991, after practicing law for about 20 years, I went through one of those self-evaluation times in which I wanted to figure out "what to do with the rest of my life." Until that time, my practice included a variety of what are known as "transactional" matters. My emphasis had always been in the areas of the Estate Planning, Probate, Guardianship and similar matters. I also did work in the areas of Contracts, Corporations, Partnerships, Leases and the like.

As I reflected on my past legal experiences, I came to the realization that Estate Planning was, and is the area that I found to be the most rewarding. I value helping people avoid the emotional and financial headaches and problems that arise from no planning, or poor planning.

I've seen my clients live with the results of bad planning. Death and disability are difficult enough to deal with. When you add the financial and legal implications of incomplete or no estate planning, it can be devastating to the surviving spouse and family members.

So, in light of this reflection and self-examination, I decided to focus my business totally on the area of Estate Planning. I want to do my part to "get the word out" about the problems and pitfalls in the Estate Planning area. I started writing a monthly Estate Planning column in The Sun and conducting monthly, educational estate planning seminars - free to the public.
