About Chris Gaughan

Chris Gaughan is a founding partner at Gaughan Cundiff Herman & Connealy. He has been recognized as a Missouri & Kansas Rising Star four times (2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012), an award given to the top 2.5% of attorneys in Missouri and Kansas under the age of 40. He is a member of the prestigious American Academy of Estate Planning Attorneys. He has also been recognized by National Trial Lawyers as a member of the Top 40 Under 40, an invitation-only group for attorneys who exemplify superior qualifications, trial results, and leadership as attorneys under the age of 40.

Chris provides a wide range of custom estate planning services to his clients, with a primary focus on helping them provide for the security of their loved ones, reduce estate taxes and avoid or at least minimize the costs and delays of probate. He dedicates himself to continuing and ongoing education in this ever-changing field to ensure that his clients are provided with the best and most up-to-date estate planning services. He is also a frequent speaker on a variety of estate planning topics, regularly presenting educational seminars for the public as well as private groups.

He has been accepted as a member of the prestigious American Academy of Estate Planning Attorneys, and his practice is devoted entirely to developing custom estate planning services for his clients, trust administration and probate.

Chris received his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Rockhurst University in Kansas City. He then attended law school at the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Law. During law school, he was a member of the Missouri Environmental Law and Policy Review, and received several awards related to his studies in insurance law.

About the American Academy of Estate Planning Attorneys

The Academy is a national organization dedicated to promoting excellence in estate planning by providing its exclusive membership of attorneys with up-to-date research on estate and tax planning, educational materials, and other important resources to empower them to provide superior estate planning services. The Academy expects members to have at least 36 hours of legal education each year specifically in estate, tax, probate and/or elder law subjects. To ensure this goal is met, the Academy provides over 40 hours of continuing legal education each year.
