About Liran Aliav
Liran Aliav practices in all areas of trusts and wills, including estate planning, trust litigation and disputes, trust and probate administration, probate litigation, and conservatorships. He has guided hundreds of clients in creating customized estate plans with asset protection, divorce protection, and complex distribution patterns. Liran is also proficient in advanced estate planning techniques that reduce or eliminate estate taxes and limit the reassessment of property taxes. Lately, Liran has guided multiple clients to plan for Medi-Cal qualification and recovery.
Recently, Liran has won a judgment for breach of fiduciary duty against a trustee for over $350,000. Last year Liran obtained a favorable judgment in trust litigation matter involving several handwritten trust amendments in a multi-million dollar estate. In addition, Liran won a 5-day jury trial by a 12-0 ruling. Not only does Liran have experience at trial court, but Liran handles all aspects of litigation, such as gathering evidence in discovery, choosing members of a jury, and settling cases at mediation.
Liran has recently been selected to the 2016 California Super Lawyers Rising Stars list. Each year, no more than 2.5 percent of the lawyers in the state are selected by Super Lawyers to receive this honor. Liran was recognized for his emphasis in Estate Planning and Probate.
Liran received both a Juris Doctor (J.D.) and Masters in Taxation (LL.M.) from Loyola Law School, Los Angeles. At Loyola, Liran published an article in the International and Comparative Law Review called “A Solution for Developing Countries’ Problem with WTO Noncompliance“. Liran externed for the Honorable Judge R. Gary Klausner in the United States District Court for the Central District of California. Liran graduated cum laude from U.C.L.A. in 2009. Liran is a member of the Los Angeles Bar Association, Beverly Hills Bar Association, and the Trusts and Estates Division of the Los Angeles Bar Association.
About the American Academy of Estate Planning Attorneys
