About Edward Lovato

Born in Albuquerque and raised in Rancho, Ed Lovato is proud of his New Mexican heritage. After graduating from Rio Rancho High School, Lovato served 13 years in the U.S. Marines, including tours of duty in Iraq and Afghanistan. As the founder and principal shareholder in the Rancho law firm of Lovato Law, P.C., Lovato oversees a practice devoted to providing clients with the best in estate planning. In addition to his law practice, Lovato volunteers as a Rio Rancho Planning & Zoning Commissioner. He also serves on two non-profit boards: 1) New Mexico Veterans Integration Centers, and 2) AMIKids Sandoval, where he serves as Chair. Ed lives in Rio Rancho with his wife and children.


When Lovato left military service and returned to New Mexico to practice law, he focused his practice on helping families preserve their assets. Ed provides a high level of skill and knowledge to planning for those of high net worth with complex estates. A complex estate requires advanced forms of estate planning which Lovato Law is equipped to provide. Ed is a member of the American Academy of Estate Planning Attorneys (AAEPA). He is also a member of the American Bar Association and the State Bar of New Mexico.


Lovato attended the University of New Mexico Anderson School of Management where he graduated summa cum laude with an undergraduate degree business finance. Next, Ed attended the University of New Mexico School of Law for his Juris Doctor.

About the American Academy of Estate Planning Attorneys

The Academy is a national organization dedicated to promoting excellence in estate planning by providing its exclusive membership of attorneys with up-to-date research on estate and tax planning, educational materials, and other important resources to empower them to provide superior estate planning services.
