About Sara Ovando
Sara is a founding partner of Ovando Bowen LLP. While in undergraduate school, Sara worked for the Long Beach Courthouse Self-Help Center. There, she learned about Family law and Landlord-Tenant law. Sara thoroughly enjoyed helping clients with their cases. This led her to switch from applying to Ph.D./Psy.D. programs to J.D. programs. After passing the California bar, Sara worked at a small firm in Orange County where she practiced Personal Injury, Bankruptcy and Employment law.
Sara is an active Member of the American Academy of Estate Planning Attorneys, State Bar of California, Orange County Bar Association, and Orange County Intellectual Property Bar Association.
Sara received a B.A. in Psychology and B.A. in Sociology from California State University, Long Beach. While she was an undergraduate Sara received her Esthetician license and certification in Yoga. She then went on to receive her J.D. with an emphasis in Intellectual Property from the John Marshall School of Law in Chicago, IL. Currently, Sara is obtaining her Certified Financial Planner certificate.
Sara was born and raised in Orange County. Her family hails from Guatemala, Sara is fluent in Spanish. Prior to becoming an attorney, Sara was an esthetician and a certified yoga instructor. Sara is a huge animal lover and plans to open her own farm sanctuary. She enjoys being part of the beauty industry, traveling around the world, learning new languages (beginner in French and Chinese) and being a mom.
About the American Academy of Estate Planning Attorneys
The Academy is a national organization dedicated to promoting excellence in estate planning by providing its exclusive membership of attorneys with up-to-date research on estate and tax planning, educational materials, and other important resources to empower them to provide superior estate planning services. The Academy expects members to have at least 36 hours of legal education each year specifically in estate, tax, probate and/or elder law subjects. To ensure this goal is met, the Academy provides over 40 hours of continuing legal education each year.
